Feathertails Death

Woo! this only took me 2 and a half days! :'D

*contains spoilers for moonrise*

so pretty much, to the best of my memory, this is feathertails death scene!(which I cried my eyes out for multiple minutes)
Feathertail sacraficed herself to save the tribe of rushing water from the mountain lion, "sharptooth", that had been preying on them. Her brother, Stormfur, pictured above her mourning, was originally thought to be the "silver cat" that would save them all. In the last minutes of her life however, she realized that the silver cat was in fact her and she jumped on to a stalagtite, which cause it to plumbit down from the roof of the cave, killing sharptooth.
this whole conflict has a very deep meaning and a very big question that people would ask themselves: self preservation, or selflessness and fight for the greater cause. I myself while reading the book was quite frustrated that they kept coming back. But as it neared the climax i understood why and how they must have felt and realized that i probably couldn't live with myself if i left the helpless tribe to hopelessly be picked off one by one.
